Brave Afghan Refugees Sharing their Stories with the MIA Library

This presentation was given by Tasneem Dari, Museum of Islamic Art 

In September 2021 when the government changed in Afghanistan a lot of Afghans’ lives changed forever, they had to leave the country and start living as refuges. MIA Library was honored to be  with  them in their journey by providing workshops, and support. We gave them an opportunity to tell their personal stories. We captured the stories and created a beautiful book and museum exhibition, which helped raise awareness of the struggle of these families and gave them a chance to tell their stories and feel hope. The library created a warm and caring environment for these families to learn, have fun and express their feelings.
