Libraries Lead Forum 2023: GLAMs and Cultural Diplomacy
19 - 20 March 2023
Galleries, libraries, archives, and museums (GLAMs) across the world leverage soft power to promote diplomacy locally and between nations. Although cultural ambassadorship in memory institutions is under-represented in research, its significance is evident in collections, programming, exhibitions, and collaborations that represent national interests and international relations.
This year's edition of the Libraries Lead Forum will explore topics such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Restitution of cultural heritage items
- Facilitating cultural exchanges in the arts, sports, literature, music, science, business and more
- Creating cultural programs to improve relations between divergent groups
- Exchanging ideas, values, and traditions to strengthen relationships and promote cooperation locally or internationally
