The research concerns itself with an important issue in the contemporary Quranic studies which is the historicity of the Quranic text. This issue has been very controversial on the intellectual field in the modern age especially among the Arab modernist thinkers who have been divided into pros and cons and it received the attention of the contemporary thinkers. Hence, there have been a lot of different opinions on this issue until it has become one of the controversial issues in the modern age. The research focused on the issue of the historicity of the Quranic text from the point of view of the contemporary Arab thinkers. The research chose the Tunisian thinker "Abdulmajeed Al-Sharafy" considering his huge intellectual contribution in this field. The research concerns initially with the historicity and tried to establish its origin. Then, the research tackles the issue from the Arab modernist thinkers' perspective and after that the research was specialized and limited to Abdulmajeed Al-Sharafy's intellectual project which is based on the historical study of Quran which revealed the extent of its impact on the intellectual field and how it contributed to the destabilization of the opinion of the Quranic text uniqueness and holiness. The research concludes that Al-Sharafy acknowledges the historicity of the Quranic text and denies its holiness confirming that the Quranic text is based on the human nature which makes it equal to the other life human works and that the base of Al-Sharafy's intellectual school. But this vision is still relative and cannot be taken for granted because of the deficiency of the historical approach with respect to its level of applying the Quranic text.
