This research examines the role of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in conflict resolution, and analyses its involvement in a complex civil war in the context of Mindanao in the Philippines as a case study. The research evaluates the potential of the OIC in conflict resolution since its formation, and presents an overview of the OIC in terms of its structure and conflict resolution architecture by utilizing in- depth interviews with experts, and other primary and secondary resources. The research also investigates the long-term arduous initiatives employed in the Mindanao conflict for almost fifty years, culminating in examining how the OIC played a key role in bringing a peaceful resolution.
