Muslim online dating has emerged as a recently new phenomenon with real ethical implications. The purpose of this thesis is to examine key ethical issues within the realm of Muslim online dating and highlight guidance and relevant values that are fundamental to the development of an Islamic ethics of Muslim online dating. The study addresses three aspects of Muslim online dating: 1) the reflection of normative Islamic values in the phenomenon of Muslim online dating; 2) problems faced by users, and 3) the involvement of consumerism in Muslim online dating. The key question is: what are the main ethical issues within Muslim online dating? And the sub questions are: to what extent is the construction of marriage ethics in Muslim online dating linked to the Islamic tradition? How is the Construction of Islamicate Values on Digital Modes represented in Muslim Online Dating? How is the commodification of religion reflected in the phenomenon of Muslim online dating?
