This dissertation consists of three essays related to Islamicity and Sustainable principles. The first essay conducts an extensive and systematic literature review on the Sustainable Development Index and Islamic indices, emphasizing the need to refine Islamicity indices to align more closely with Sharia principles, particularly in non-Islamic contexts. It advocates for the integration of Quranic values into institutions to uphold individual rights, economic participation, and the rule of law, promoting policies reflective of Quranic teachings to enhance economic development while preserving cultural and religious values. The second essay introduces a novel conceptual framework that integrates sustainability with Islamic values to address existing gaps in Islamicity indices, aiming to develop a sustainable Islamic Index with global relevance. The third essay investigates the influence of Islamic financial institutions in Qatar on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), revealing a positive correlation between Islamic financial contributions and progress towards SDGs. Investments in poverty alleviation, healthcare, education, research, and sustainable energy are highlighted as crucial for advancing the SDGs. Together, these essays offer valuable insights into Islamic finance, governance, and sustainability, emphasizing the importance of aligning policies with Islamic teachings and contemporary global challenges.
