Championing Open Access at Notre Dame University-Louaize, Lebanon
This presentation was given by Amine Moussa (Senior Specialist - Head, Library Information Systems Department) and Rita Mehanna (Assistant Librarian, Special Collections Department), Notre Dame University Libraries.
The NDU Institutional Repository has been a great achievement for the University Libraries. It was implemented in 2015 by the library staff without any external assistance. The IR was introduced with the aim to support and advance the University mission to 'foster excellence in scholarship and lifelong learning, and to educate students to be future leaders who can exercise reason based upon knowledge‘. It collects, stores, preserves, manages, and makes all the scientific and scholarly production of the University easily accessible in a more effective and open way. The IR facilitates the transfer of knowledge within NDU, and maximizes the visibility, use, and impact of the scientific and scholar production in the international community.
